Salvatore Ferragamo, Fall/Winter 2012 Men's collection

So far, this is my favorite collection this season. Maybe it's because the lighter beiges tones look so elegant together (but then again, there are some unconventional colours too, such as plum and oatmeal teal).

Or maybe it's because the jackets are perfectly fitted

 Actually, I think it's because the guys are wearing their fedoras so sharply.

I cant stand dorky trilbys (short brimmed fedoras), especially when tilted up:

Alexander Mcqueen, Fall/Winter 2012 Men's collection

The past few seasons of McQueen have featured eccentric looks that were totally lost on me. That's why I was surprised this season to see a more a much bolder rock n' roll style aesthetic that reminded me a bit of Gucci and Burberry.  These are the perfect coats for the rock star or vampire, or even better, the rockstar who also happens to be vampire.

Corneliani, Fall/Winter 2012 Men's

In case you think winter collections must be all dark, take a look at this collection. I really love the simple classic colour schemes, especially the way the flannel grey tones complements the beige tones.  The guy in the white suit maybe be pushing it for winterwear, but hey, when you look that good, why not?

Canali Fall/Winter 2012

These guy looks really dapper. Unfortunately, as I've commented before, the edgier Canali looks rarely make it through to stores such as Harry Rosen.  It's usually just a sea of grey and navy. Ditto for brands such as Zegna. I've cherry picked some of the more interesting ensembles.

Bottega Veneta, Fall/Winter 2012

Despite the luxury of the Bottega Veneta brand, the clothes are always presented with a certain nonchalance that I find appealing (e.g jackets half zipped, buttons undone, etc.)

D&G Fall/Winter 2012

Are there any brands more American than Coca-Cola and Mickey Mouse?? Ok, maybe Facebook and Apple, Google...Well, anyways, in the 1950's, there weren't. This collection was an obvious homage to classic Americana, especially with the preppy, "Polo" layers of colour.

The sunglasses and earphones gave the look a bit of an 80's new-wave vibe. Isn't this how the cool kids in all those 80's movies dressed (remember Stiles from Teen Wolf?)?

D&G-- being the junior Dolce and Gabbana label-- definitely succeeded in providing a new direction for the brand with this whimsy collection .

Burberry Prorsum, Fall/Winter 2012

Considering Burberry's Christopher Bailey is one of my favorite designers, I was a bit nonplussed with this collection (however, it did give me the opportunity to use the word "nonplussed" for the first time ever).

This collection was all about coats, and it was hard to tell what was happening underneath, if anything. A lot of them were downright wierd
