Burberry Prorsum Men's Fall/winter 2012

In a season where most designers were content to present too-wide roomy coats, Christopher Bailey kept things sensible by resorting in some instances to smart tailoring and in others, to quirky details such as metal studded gloves and attaches cases.

Full show.

Burberry Prorsum, Fall/Winter 2012

Considering Burberry's Christopher Bailey is one of my favorite designers, I was a bit nonplussed with this collection (however, it did give me the opportunity to use the word "nonplussed" for the first time ever).

This collection was all about coats, and it was hard to tell what was happening underneath, if anything. A lot of them were downright wierd

but there were some coats and accessories that made it worthwhile:

Burberry Prorsum - Mens Spring/Summer 2011

Overview: Chris Bailey really knocked the ball out of the park with this show. The combination of showpiece coats (Burberry's specialty), leather pants and studded motorcycle jackets proved dazzling. I won't ruin the moment by mentioning that Prada had lotsa studded leather a couple of seasons ago.

Rating: ****

Highlights: Gladiator sandals, studded leather jackets, leather pants.

Lowlights: None

Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer 2010

While normally one of my favorites, I wasn't too keen on the latest Burberry Prorsum show. Still, Christopher Bailey had enough in the tank to make the collection somewhat interesting.
The collection highlighted a lot of soft light fabrics and loosely tailored garments.

Burberry Prorsum, Fall 2009 Men's

Burberry's Prorsum line has been one of my favorite labels over the past couple years. I've picked a few items at Holts and at the flagship boutique in NYC. That being said, the much cheaper stuff from the lower end Burberry labels is usually crap and often made in China, so beware (Prorsum is usually made in Italy as far as I know).

This show was a bit disappointing, but Burberry always has the coolest coats and there were some decent ones in this show as well.
